Project Description(s):

A group of accounting faculty at the Yale School of Management seek to hire a highly skilled and motivated individual. The successful applicant will work with faculty to collect data, maintain databases, conduct statistical analysis, assist with the preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents, and provide other support associated with faculty research. Professors in the accounting group conduct research on the role of reporting regulation in public finance as well as in the social sector, textual analysis, banking, and capital markets.

Candidates should have a long-term interest in pursuing economics-related research (finance, accounting, economics, public policy, or political science). This position presents an opportunity to begin training for a career in research. By working with faculty, the successful candidate will enhance their understanding of empirical research and improve their econometric skills. The individual will be encouraged to interact with faculty and attend various research seminars across disciplines. The position serves as a strong stepping stone to doctoral studies.

The preferred start date is July 1, 2022, though other dates may be considered. The position is for up to two years. The review of the applications will begin as early as possible.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants should be completing or have completed an undergraduate or master’s degree, have strong quantitative background, and possess strong programming skills. Preference will be given to detail-oriented applicants with previous research and programming experience, particularly in working with large datasets and using Stata, R, Python, and/or SAS.
