Ginger Zielinskie

Senior Policy Fellow

Ginger Zielinskie collaborates with social impact organizations, government agencies, and philanthropies worldwide to harness data and technology to address complex challenges.

Previously, as Chief Impact Officer at the Federation of American Scientists, she focused on integrating science, technology, and innovation into federal policy to foster a healthier, safer, and more equitable society. In her role as Chief Strategy Officer at data.org, Ginger worked to build the field of data for social impact, helping organizations use data science to tackle some of the world's most pressing social issues.

Before joining data.org, Ginger served as President and CEO of Benefits Data Trust (BDT), scaling a national not-for-profit that worked to create a data-driven, tech-enabled safety net that works for everyone. During her tenure, BDT helped over 800,000 individuals access essential benefits helping to cover the cost of food, housing, and healthcare. With more than 25 years of experience, Ginger is an action-oriented executive leader and policy entrepreneur dedicated to forging strong partnerships to deliver systemic and meaningful change. She holds a BA from Skidmore College and an MBA in Social Policy and Management from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
