Governor's Fellow

As a Governor’s Fellow, L Britton (any pronouns) is based within the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services. They graduated in 2023 with their master’s in public health policy from the Yale School of Public Health, where their focus was on the government's role in expanding access to health care and bodily autonomy for working people and other under-resourced, exploited populations. They were assigned to the Connecticut General Assembly’s Reproductive Rights Caucus during their public health policy practicum and was a Yale Law School Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy fellow, and the chair of the student-run organization, Reproductive Health Equity Now.

Before pursuing their master’s, L worked in communications and campaign organizing at the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts, as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and as a community-labor organizer during the height of the covid pandemic. L was born and raised in New Jersey and is a proud graduate of New Jersey public schools. They received their undergraduate degree in literature and creative writing from New York University in 2015.
