Aryan Shafat is a Tobin Center / Economics Pre-Doctoral Fellow working for Professor Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak at the Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE). He holds a B.A in Economics and Statistics with a minor in Global Poverty and Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. Their interests broadly include development, financial and labour economics as well as econometrics. In particular, they are currently exploring interdisciplinary perspectives on the history of development, impacts of financial institutions on labour markets and inequality, machine learning and causal inference.
