Claire Botnick

Governor's Fellow

Claire is a lawyer and a social worker with experience in complex litigation, political campaigns, and government. Her training in social work and law informs her interdisciplinary approach to solving problems and achieving results. Prior to working for the Governor Lamont, she practiced law in the litigation department of an international law firm where she prepared and managed large teams through all aspects of complex cases. In 2018, she served as the campaign manager for a highly competitive congressional race in her hometown of Saint Louis where she built a campaign operation from conceptualization to completion in 16 months. During that time she oversaw all aspects of the campaign, including fundraising $2.2 million, managing the budget, hiring and supervising staff, organizing hundreds of volunteers, serving as campaign spokeswoman, and spearheading all paid and earned media. An experienced litigator and former campaign manager, Claire brings a deep expertise in project and stakeholder management to the Office of the Governor. 

Claire holds a B.A. in politics from Mount Holyoke College and a JD/MSW from Washington University in St. Louis.
