Isabella Caro

Isabella Caro is a Predoctoral Fellow at Yale’s Economic Growth Center. At Yale, she works with Ana de la O and Orazio Attanasio on the evolution of inequality over the life cycle in Latin America, and with Mayara Felix on projects analyzing trade agreements and their effects on firms and final consumers. She holds an M.A. and a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Plastic Arts, from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia.
Previously, she was a research assistant at Universidad de los Andes, where she contributed to impact evaluations of early-childhood and education programs. She has coauthored a book chapter on urban development in Colombia, worked at Colombia’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, and is currently working on the impacts of drug interdiction policies on children’s development in regions embedded in illegal economies. Her interests include human development, inequality, and applied development economics.
