Yongjie Xiong is a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Tobin Center for Economic Policy and the Department of Economics at Yale University, working with Professor Costas Arkolakis on topics in macroeconomics and spatial economics. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics. Prior to joining the Tobin Center, Yongjie completed the Yale IDE program in 2025 and spent a year as a visiting student at UC Berkeley in 2023.
His research interests include economic growth, spatial inequality, and international economics. He enjoys engaging in in-depth discussions on policy issues and conducting interviews and conversations with real-world entrepreneurs and investors.
