Working with economists around the country, we are advancing the economic case to re-open society responsibly, doing so quickly while avoiding aftershock effects. Towards this end, we are performing components of the underlying economic analysis and translating technical work for policymakers. Here, you can find a statement detailing our initial policy recommendations, an interview with our faculty directors and an updated concept to advance economic recovery by investing in health response to mitigate the impact of the virus.
In addition, we are:
- Investing in applied research and urgent response, delivering insights and actionable policy recommendations across issue areas:
- America’s hourly workforce and unemployment insurance policy
- Small businesses
- Labor Markets
- Crime
- Barriers to testing production
As part of the Yale community we are:
- Supporting the C19 response efforts by Yale’s Social Science faculty
- Forging connections between social science and medical, science and public health faculty
- Coordinating volunteer infrastructure
