Nat McLaughlin

Policy Fellow

Nat McLaughlin is a Policy Fellow at the Tobin Center for Economic Policy. Nat previously worked at the Tobin Center as a Senior Program Manager where he worked closely with researchers, policymakers, and partners to advance Tobin’s mission across strategic initiatives.

Previously, as Policy Advisor to Connecticut’s Chief Budget Officer, Nat was responsible for designing and implementing social and economic recovery programs across agencies in Connecticut, including the development of the Governor’s plan for allocating $2.8 billion in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) federal stimulus and collaborating across agencies to evaluate, develop, implement, and monitor proposals for those funds. 

Nat also served as a Naval Officer where he performed research and analysis of international security issues, planned and executed complex military operations, and worked extensively with international partners.

Nat holds a MA in Global Affairs and a MBA from Yale University, a Masters in National Defense and Security Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
